Tacky Light Tour

We had heard about this from everyone here in Richmond so Todd and I headed out to see for ourselves what the Tacky Light Tour was all about! We just went to these two houses since they were so close and we were impressed! 

If you are ever in the Richmond area during December, you should look this up.  You can even hire a limo to ride around in.  (We opted to drive ourselves!)

Climbing

While we were in Durham we were able to go climbing! We miss the climbing gyms in Utah and are in search for a good one out here that isn't too expensive!  Our arms definitely noticed the lack of climbing for the past few months but we still had a good time.  

Duke University

Todd and I were able to head down to North Carolina this past weekend to experience Duke University Men's Basketball! Thanks to Nelson for getting us tickets and letting us stay at his place! 

Duke is an amazing team to watch even though they totally dominated good ol' Rick Majerus' team! The Blue Devil fans and students are crazy!  They have chants and cheers for everything! So fun!! 

The campus is beautiful and the buildings are incredible!! Unfortunately it was raining so we didn't spend too much time walking around. 

 And of course we had to see the medical school and hospital! 

Thanks Nelson! We will definitely be visiting again! 

Washington DC Temple

We finally made it up to the Washington DC temple to do a session.  

We got there in the afternoon so by the time we left it was getting dark.  

The temple is beautiful inside and out!!

Thanksgiving

This year for Thanksgiving, Todd and I were in charge of the cooking! Scary, I know but everything turned out wonderful! Jason, Shaylee and Zoey came from West Virginia, Nelson came from North Carolina, Ben came from Charlottesville, and Taylor came from Utah!!  We had a full house but definitely enjoyed the company.

Richmond Marathon and Maymont

Our friends, Jason and Shaylee (and their baby Zoey) came and stayed with us this last weekend.  Shaylee ran in the Richmond Half Marathon on Saturday and did an awesome job! After the race, we took them to Maymont where Zoey loved seeing all the animals!

University of Richmond

Since we've been here, we've heard how beautiful the University of Richmond's campus is.  We finally went and walked around and we definitely agree.

Bryan and Ann's visit

Todd's parents came to visit us!  They were only here for the weekend but we were able to fit in a lot of different things.  We spent time showing them around Richmond and went to Charlottesville.

Happy Halloween

We had a great Halloween this year. We dressed up as Princess Peach and Mario for the ward party.

After some delicious chili and corn bread we headed out to the parking lot and enjoyed the "trunk or treat" with all the little kids.  My mom sent me a pack of glow sticks to hand out and they were a hit to say the least!  We ran out so fast so next year we'll just have to bring more!

Luray Caverns

Todd and I decided to take advantage of our time off and go out and explore a few weekends ago.  We went to the Luray Caverns in the Shenandoah Valley.  The drive there was beautiful with all the leaves changing colors and the Caverns were pretty awesome as well.  It is all underground with different formations everywhere.  They have what they call the "Dream Lake" inside the cavern.  The water is perfectly still that it creates a mirror image of the stalactites hanging from the ceiling.  

They also have a Garden Maze so of course we did it! Todd was like a little kid again running around! He loved it!  Unfortunately my camera battery died during this part but this is what it looks like...
