Hilton Head

March 10th-17th

This year for Spring Break we went to Hilton Head, South Carolina and spent the week in a beautiful beach house with some amazing people.  We packed the truck with every toy we could fit to guarantee a good time.  We had perfect weather and spent most days relaxing at the beach.  We had surf boards, boogie boards, skim boards, and the Wood's had an awesome bag full of beach toys.  We had paddle ball and tennis tournaments, played soccer and football, went on bikes ride on the beach and Todd even convinced Paige and I to ride our bikes around the island.  When we weren't at the beach, we were eating too much food and staying up way too late playing games.  We ventured to Savannah, Georgia one evening for dinner and a haunted ghost tour around the city.  We celebrated Todd's birthday with a chocolate fountain and enjoyed a "dolphin seafari."

The boys spent hours on this sand castle.  It was awesome and people walking along the beach would stop and take pictures of it too.  They were so proud of their sand castle and asked for a little photo shoot with it!  Todd has never wanted his picture taken until this! They were nice enough to let Jack destroy it when we left the beach since he had been eyeing it all day.

Last day... We were so sad to pack up and head back to real life :(

However, on the way home we had to stop at South of the Border since we passed hundreds of billboards advertising it.  We are all since confused about that place and not sure what makes it so great.

And thanks to Innes' for providing us with great company and conversation on the drive!  Matt told us one of the creepiest things one of his roommates did to him was took a picture of him and girlfriend sleeping.  So we couldn't resist!  

Remembering Mo...

A coworker of mine recently passed away in a tragic car accident.  Today, I was able to attend a memorial service in her honor and left feeling extremely grateful that I was able to know her and work with her.  Mo was a very loving, compassionate, and selfless person and truly cared for other people.  As the chaplain spoke at her memorial, he talked a lot about her "work family" and the countless number of hours she spent there caring for other people.  I am happy to know that I was part of her "work family" and am very blessed that I was able to work along side her.  She truly treated me as family and was always looking out for me.  Not a week went by without her asking how my husband was doing in school and how my family back home was doing.  She even called me "KK" just like my family does.  She was a great example to me and taught me many things about life and about being a nurse.  She was always smiling and laughing and made work a much brighter place to be.  The night before she passed away, I was suppose to be on call for work.  She knew I had family coming into town so she took my call so I could spend time with them.  I wish I could have returned the favor for her.  Remember, life is fragile so we need to make the most of each day.  Miss you, Mo...
