McKay Dee 5K

McKay Dee Hospital (where I am currently working) is celebrating 100 years of healing this year. They held a 5K on Saturday in honor of their celebration. I convinced my husband, dad and brother to run in it with me. However, I had no idea that Saturday would bring horrible weather. It was so windy and rained off and on throughout the race. And the course was uphill against the wind.

We still had fun though. They provide patient gowns for us to run in. They definitely kept us warmer. We ran from the old, old Dee Hospital that is now a park, along Harrison to the old McKay Dee Hospital, which has been knocked down and only the surgical center is left, to the new McKay Dee Hospital. I met up with my friend Jordan who ran with me too!

Climbing... Climb on!

Todd loves doing anything outdoors! He always has something planned especially when I’m working. He’s been going climbing just about everyday and finally I didn’t have to work so I was able to go with him.

The Ogden Canyon is beautiful and has some great climbs!

We went with Matt, Taylor, Nelson, and Sarah.

We did a 200 ft repel first, then spend the rest of the time climbing different routes.

It was very dark, and had tons of broke glass and trash in it. He's brave!

Breakfast with Friends!

My cute friend Jenna was visiting from Wisconsin this last week. So Jordan, Jenna, and I all got together to go out to breakfast. We all met in nursing school and have been great friends ever since. These girls saved me during those two years! They were also both bridesmaids at my wedding! Jenna and I met during our first semester of school because we were in the same clinical group. We had to do our clinicals at a nursing home and we hated it!! We would always sneak out to our cars and sleep during the day.
Jordan and I met through Jenna during the semester. We became great friends especially after spending two weeks together in Peru for a medical mission. Jordan is also Todd's second cousin!

It was fun to get together and catch up. It hasn't been to hard to see each other with Jordan and I still living in Utah and Jenna coming home to visit. However, next year we will all be living in different states. Jen, we'll just have to plan our visits home together and we will all have to go on a trip somewhere! :)

Lake Powell

We had a great time in Lake Powell for Nate's senior trip!

We had great weather, food and company.

We enjoyed getting to know all of Nate's friends better (some a little too well!)!

They all started calling Todd, Todder at the beginning of the trip and

I soon started getting called Teeter.

We all enjoyed skiing, wakeboarding, surfing, airchairing, bumper tubing, cliff jumping, hiking, eating, and spending time with each other.

This was a 54 ft cliff that we jumped off of right by where we stayed.

And yes, my father-in-law, Bryan wore his dry suit just about every time he got into the water! :)

Todd took these last pictures on the way down to Lake Powell. They were all exhausted because they left right after the all night graduation party. 5 big boys in the back of a suburban!

High School Graduate... Called to Serve

My brother Nathan had a pretty exciting week. He first graduated from

Ogden High School on May 26th, 2010.

We are so proud of him and all of his accomplishments.

He was a great student, graduating with a 4.0 GPA, and an amazing athlete.

Congratulations Nate!!

Todd couldn't make it to the graduation ceremony because he was busy getting his family's boat ready for Nate's senior trip to Lake Powell. They left the next morning after the all night party. Todd and I were asked to be chaperone's since the Gilbert's have a very nice boat and my parents organized the trip and we were using their houseboat! We had a lot of fun with Nate and his friends and always enjoy a trip to Lake Powell! (Lake Powell pictures coming soon...)

We got back on Wednesday, June 2nd and Nate had a
big white envelope addressed to
Elder Nathan Bradford Kapple
waiting for him. We were all surprised since
his mission papers had just been sent in the week before.

He has been called to serve in the
Honduras, San Pedro Sula Mission.
He leaves on September 29th.

We are so excited for him! We know he'll be an amazing missionary.
